Batteries wear out gradually
Most batteries don’t fail without warning. Their performance drops a little at a time.
Short trips, heat and age all take their toll. A tired battery may still start the car on a good day, then struggle after the car has sat for a while.
Knowing the signs means you can replace it on your terms, not on the side of the road.
Signs it may be time
- Slow or laboured starting
- Headlights that dim at idle
- The battery has needed a jump start
- A battery warning light on the dash
- Swelling, leaks or corrosion on the case
Age isn’t the whole story.
Two batteries of the same age can be in very different condition. A test tells you where yours is at.
