Why start-stop changes things
Start-stop vehicles switch the engine off at the lights, then restart it again and again.
That puts far more load on the battery than a standard car does, and a standard battery usually isn’t built for it.
EFB in short
Enhanced Flooded Batteries are a tougher version of the standard flooded battery, designed for entry-level start-stop systems.
AGM in short
Absorbent Glass Mat batteries handle deeper cycling and higher electrical demand. They’re common in vehicles with more advanced start-stop systems.
Don’t downgrade.
If your car came with an AGM battery, replace it with AGM. Fitting a standard or EFB battery instead can cause problems.
