The questions we get asked most.
Start with Find My Battery: choose your vehicle type, then make, model and year, and we’ll point you to the right range. The code on your current battery helps too. Need a hand confirming the fit? Call or text 0477 577 007 with your vehicle details.
A new battery is brand new stock we import ourselves. A reconditioned battery is second-hand: tested, brought back to a usable state and checked again before it goes out. It costs less upfront, which suits older cars, second cars and tighter budgets. When recon makes sense.
AGM stands for absorbed glass mat. The acid is held in a fibreglass mat rather than as free liquid, which makes it more resistant to vibration and better at handling deeper discharge. It’s the usual choice for cars that came with AGM from the factory. If yours did, stick with AGM.
EFB stands for enhanced flooded battery: a reinforced version of a conventional battery, built for the extra cycling in a stop-start car. It costs less than AGM. If your car came with EFB, fit EFB or upgrade to AGM. AGM vs EFB explained.
Yes. Fitting is free at our Darra warehouse when you purchase the battery from us and leave your old battery with us. Bought a battery somewhere else? Give us a call first and we’ll let you know if we can help.
Yes. Battery testing is free and you don’t need to buy anything. Bring the car to Darra during opening hours and we’ll test it while you wait. How testing works.
Yes. Drop it in during opening hours, or we’ll take the old one away when we fit your new battery. How recycling works.
