Frequently asked questions
The questions we get asked most.
Start-stop vehicles need an AGM or EFB battery rather than a standard one, because the system cycles the battery far more. Check what your car came with, or tell us the make, model and year and we’ll confirm it.
AGM stands for absorbed glass mat: the acid is held in a fibreglass mat, which makes it more resistant to vibration and better at handling heavy electrical loads. EFB stands for enhanced flooded battery: a reinforced version of a conventional battery, built for the extra cycling in a stop-start car.
